Blatantly False Statement at end of Second Paragraph

[edit]

At the end of the second paragraph of this article, it says that, "The aim of the Warsaw Uprising was to prevent domination of Poland by the Soviet Union." This is an absolutely ridiculous statement. First and foremost, the Warsaw Uprising was an attempt to end the Nazi occupation. DestroyerOfSense (talk) 04:12, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I should clarify. Certainly the Poles wanted to prevent the Soviets from taking over, but to say that was THE aim of the Warsaw Uprising is ridiculous. DestroyerOfSense (talk) 04:15, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The aim was both but the prevention of the Soviets from taking over and was the primary purpose. - GizzyCatBella🍁 04:59, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request move: History of Poland (1989-present) to Third Polish Republic and so on

[edit]

See:

Similarily, articles History of Poland (1918-1939), History of Poland (1939-1945), History of Poland (1945-1989) etc. should be moved into articles named: Poland in the Interwar period, Poland in WW2, Poland in the Cold War etc. or perhaps one big "Poland in the 20th century" article should be created along with one for the Third Polish Republic, describing the current regime, how it formed etc. See: France in the 20th century

"were becoming obsolete" should be changed to "were obsolescent. Benzion Alfred (talk) 13:37, 28 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: They have the same meaning, but the former is more understandable to the lay-person (especially non-native speakers) Ultraodan (talk) 11:22, 29 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
